Leadership

Bernard Asselin

President

Advertising is simple—advertisers are on one side, agencies on the other. Our president decided to step from one world into the other. Former head of marketing at RDS, marketing manager at Aliments Delisle, and VP of Marketing and Sales at The Gazette, Bernard Asselin became Bleublancrouge’s president in October 2010 after six years of success and multi-award-winning campaigns. It’s an out-of-the-ordinary path, but Bernard is accustomed to standing out from the crowd.

Since the start of his career, he has made a name for himself with his team leadership and impressive results. While many agencies today are wondering how to enter the Internet Age, Bernard did so many years ago, guiding his paper in its successful move to digital.

He has proven effective wherever he goes, including Bell ExpressVu for four years, then The Gazette for another four. Campaigns orchestrated by Bernard Asselin have won awards at the New York Festival, Cannes, Créa, and the Marketing Awards, and The Gazette campaign was recognized as the world’s best advertising campaign by the International Newsmedia Marketing Association (INMA). Bernard may be a former client, but he was a client with a gift for finding good ideas and making them great. And that client side experience revealed his natural ability to understand the issues facing advertisers. He has wide-ranging interests and does not hesitate to get involved, which is why he is a member of both the McCord Museum’s board of directors and was part of the 2008 Grey Cup organizing committee. Bernard’s active involvement and ability to anticipate and deal with new challenges will now be put to use for a key target: Bleublancrouge’s clients.

They can rest assured, he knows exactly where he is headed.
